I met Laure Baudot five years ago in a writing workshop (Zen poetics meet creative fiction, no less). I am thrilled to launch this website to promote her work and her first collection of short stories to be published by Cormorant Books in May 2018. The website was a delightful, creative co-creation, with the gorgeous addition of works by Guy Demun of France, and Abraham Murley of Philadelphia (also a client). I can't wait to read these stories!

I had the pleasure of visiting Norway's National Gallery in Oslo today. The collection is quite broad and includes many Norwegian artists I did not know. There is a strong tradition of natural landscape painting, so appropriate to the drama of this rugged country. I have only explored Oslo so far, but my imagination is filled with vivid landscapes such as this. At a glance it looks like low rocky outcroppings, but when you look closely, a small farmhouse, barn and outbuildings are visible, nestled in the green vale. The light here now, in late October, is a little like that in the painting: sideways slanting sunlight makes dawn and dusk very long, and the brightest light shines for a shorter and shorter period each day.
